Been sitting at the computer all day trying to find a new decent e mail provider........using G Mail right now, but now they tell me my space is limited......I guess cause of all the photos I have. So have a S.Disk and must back them up to my pc, and see if that helps.
Received an e mail from Google this morning saying ::
Your personal Google+ account is going away on April 2, 2019

Either I don't understand this, or else I do understand it and and not liking it at all!

ETA: a lot of my photos are already on my PC, but then Google Photos was so convenient, especially since I have an Android phone..........have all my photos backed up to a 32 gig thingy on my phone, but that's not helping me.

Car is back home and good to go. They even did an interior clean cause they got a little dirt inside. When they do a clean, they are thorough, so it was like getting a freebie! :thumb:

Worst of the cold seems behind us. Going down to about 9 tonight, which is much better than the last several nights.....then that hinky warm up for a lot of us.

Good evening and goodnight Snails. Sleep well, sweet dreams and a better tomorrow for al

    Gmail is not going away.

I think it's just the "Google +" thingy... which they thought would give
Facebook a run for its money.

But, yeah... Gmail space is limited.

    Consider getting an external HD.

    night, kat! ;)

    and ~~~~ @ bear and gracie ;)

gracie, are you storing pics in google email? :?: i believe they allow 15 gigs of free space. you might want to check your folders and empty what's no longer needed. also, i use thunderbird to download all my gmail to my computer. that makes it easy to delete some stuff - no need for duplicates ;) unfortunately, thunderbird downloads only new mail.

We do have an external hard drive, but I guess I'm confused about.....oh, hell, I'm not even sure now what I'm confused about! :(

Yes, 15 gigs is the limit of which I have 1 gig left.
I will look into Thunderbird and I will definitely do some housecleaning on what's no longer needed. OY!
Thank you both for some very sound advice!!! :)

You can configure it to grab everything. You can do this on a whole account or folder-by-folder basis. It should be under Synchronization & Storage.

Note: I'm assuming you've got it set up to access your gmail account via IMAP. If you're using it via POP, switch it to IMAP.

OK...just checked my settings, and it was POP, so changed it to IMAP!

I only have a gmail account 'cause you pretty much have to in order to use an Android phone. My gmail account has a whopping ~70 MB in it, because I don't particularly want Google reading my mail.

Now my real mail accounts (including the business, accumulated over the last 20 years) add up to about 80 GB, with the master copy residing on a private IMAP server in our office, and backups (by virtue of synchronization to the local TB profile) on each of the computers I use. I take my e-mail fairly seriously.
