Emergency trucks when by around 4:20-ish this morning (and woke me up). Hope everyone is OK, whatever it was.
Found it on the news site.

House fire possibly due to downed lines. Everyone escaped OK, house gutted.

The article also says there's a lot of downed lines. So far, I have power and internet! Fingers crossed.
Going to charge an e-cig battery, though...before we lose power. Another round of ice predicted tonight.

That dog looks like our energy company's power outage map... ;)

This wasn't even the worst ice storm I've seen. But bad enough I guess.
So the GF hasn't had power since a bit before 3:00 a.m.

I can't drive to get to her...too dangerous. And she doesn't want to drive out either. She wants to work from home, but probably won't be able to connect. She can charge her phone with the car IF she can open her garage door. I walked her through it (and got a lecture about her "not being stupid and you don't have to tell me...blah...blah...")

So I'm just making sure that when she charges her phone using the car (full tank of gas) that she doesn't asphyxiate herself or get fumes in the house. So I did the usual Atty thing, and got lectured, followed by my "I know you're not stupid, you're very smart and that's one of the things I like about you so much" reply.

you stay safe, atty! and remember, once people reach a certain age some warnings and instructions are very much redundant but we tend to forget that when it comes to someone we care about! :p
Yeah, but if you don't tell her, she'd leave the vents on inside the car and not think about closing them off. And then I didn't take good care of her.

So I'd rather get chewed out but say something. ;)

And she DID know enough to ask and talk about "If I can only open the garage door 1/2 way..."

But where I really got in trouble was with propping the garage door open so it can stay up (she's short).
