Dear Katherine,

If you're on Twitter, then you might know that FDA Commissioner Gottlieb's "twitter game" is on point--or at least his media team is good at what they do.

This morning, Dr. Gottlieb fired off a few tweets in support of yesterday's announcement by FDA that will restrict everyone's access to life-saving vapor products. In particular, this tweet from 6:00 AM suggests that he sees "no redeeming public health value" in closed system/pod-based vapor products. Considering that many of us were first introduced to vaping by trying these simple devices instead of buying yet another pack of cigarettes, his opinion is clearly off base.

If you're on Twitter (or want to join), jump in on the conversation and "ratio" this tweet.

If teen e-cig use spikes again in 2019 FDA will revisit the continued marketability of pod based e-cigs as a category. Kids mostly abuse cartridge based systems. Against backdrop of rampant teen use closed systems may have no redeeming public health value. https://t.co/PLepQijbT1

Sharing your story, in 285 characters or less, is enough (and keep it clean). If using a closed system is what helped you or someone you love completely switch to vaping, be sure to mention that.

It's time to take the narrative back!

Thank you,

No, sucks that you have to ask Bear. You? Is your vision severely impacted?
Not at all. Just a relatively new rather large floater. But "the intertubes" says
to get thee to a doctor posthaste. I have an appointment, anyway, on Tuesday
for the every-2-year checkup. Two friends (we all have "those") had the same
thing and one had the sceleral buckle, the other a vitrectomy.

It could be nothing. It could be something. Just asking. :)

Oh, you're self diagnosing and researching...

Never mind. Let's see what happens. Good luck. Fingers crossed your BP just got high and you have a floater in your eye from a very small blood vessel that leaked.

How's your BP?

Have you heard of glaucoma? :D

BP has always been very much in-check. 120-125 invariably top, 80-90 invariably bottom. As
far back as I can remember.

However ...

... at last week's dental cleaning, it was 140 over something and I was very surprised.

It could very well be the Dad-surgery-stress-thing. Or the klutz speeding into the parking space
next to me WHILE my door was open (which did NOT go ignored).

Still worth having checked out, I guess. I'm torn whether to:

...say nothing and see if he spots anything
...say something and open a can of worms

They've been sitting in the stores here (in boxes) for the last 3 weeks. I guess the local bakery starts early...they can't be THAT old...

But unless I get them at a doughnut shop, I'm sure they're not fresh. And even then...they're too dense for my taste. But if I do get one for traditional reasons, it needs to be the traditional prune version. Because if you're going to go with tradition, go full goose traditional.
Paczki are supposed to be LENT ONLY!!! Somebody should read them the riot act.

PRUNE?!?!

:confused::eek:o_O:yawn::w00t::cry::nah::unsure::blink::glare:

I never recall the "traditional" place around here even offering PRUNE.

That's OK. I would not touch them with a 10 foot Pole. gah! ugh!
