Ad blocker, or not having FB extensions installed in your browser. It's a whole API thing.
I don't see it either.
Tibs, if you want to go through the effort, just type [PLAIN] followed by the URL and then and end-plain with a slash and enclosed in the square brackets. There's no menu option for it, but you can add it manually. Then the URL won't get processed and "fixed up" into a media tag.
