I thought you did not "go there" any more?
I peek now and then, but VERY seldom. Also, that phrase has been used for a few years...:p

It had its strange perverted attraction. But it took a lot more energy.

    It's easier to play nice.

Agreed, but it DID have a perverted attraction, didn't it? When I look back at that, I laugh out loud at how we screamed at each other and now you are my SweetieSugarHoneyBear!!
I will go on record, though, to say my opinion of that place has NOT changed at all.
    Nor has mine!!!!
I go there frequently for constant affirmation of said opinion.
I don't need a CONSTANT affirmation. A peek here and there is plenty for me. But I did see a garden section that I wish was in the Lounge, along with Random Thoughts....cause I sure have a lot of them....

The leaves are just barely starting to turn already. I'm trying valiantly to ignore it, but the reality of it is right in front of me as I drive down the road or look out over the landscape. Sigh.

Potato Leek soup for dinner, with side of garlic-toast. A good nearly-Autumn dish.
On a related note, it's 4 bucks for one bunch of leeks (3) these days at the store. And the pint of heavy cream (need 1 cup for the recipe in big pot) was pricey too. Jerks. I say tax all fast food and junk food until store prices come down for "real" stuff. Require the tax to go directly to offsetting basic ingredient food prices. Too many Americans living on that crap and not cooking stuff.

And mandate cooking classes in schools, just because. It's a sad day when fast-food becomes the-only-affordable-food.

End Rant/Flyby. Have a good afternoon, snails.
Totally agree, and there have been times when even I have been tempted.....mind you, tempted.....to take the easy way out and pick up a frozen dinner or two.....just can't do it, especially after reading the ingredient list......:nah:

    :: ugh ::

Time to get ready for Dad Wednesday. Take him for bloodwork, then I'll
do his grocery shopping (and pick up after-dinner dessert), then choose
    where to get take-out.

He just HAD bloodwork 3 or 4 weeks ago. Why are doctors unable to share
results? The same "panels" are being tested. Money, no doubt.

So... off for the rest of today. Tomorrow, folks!

I do get frozen on occasion....but...not usually the "complex" frozen stuffs...scientifically fabricated mystery meat with 50% filler. The last one I picked up was chicken fried rice (and I make that myself 99% of the time, but was short on time yesterday, and hadn't pre-made any rice and let it chill!). I think it was around 6 bucks, but I didn't have to buy chicken nor make rice + egg + veggies. Probably had preservatives in it 'n stuff, but mostly decent-for-you.

Another one I'll pick up is frozen chicken that's already battered and comes with a sauce...like a PF Chang thing, or other brand (garlic chicken, sweet-and-sour, etc). I make those myself too, but sometimes all that oil for frying the pieces first is too much mess.

All those are mostly basic-ingredient things. And then there's the OCCASIONAL frozen pizza because I didn't want to wait for making the dough. Or take-out pizza.

It's basically all about time. There are very few things I could buy frozen that I can't make myself and/or do better. But time is time.

Still, I'm getting real irritated at having to pay 4.80 or whatever for a "real" (not value-menu) burger and 2.50 for a beverage ....even if I do go fast food.

I guess my budget just hasn't caught up with inflation. Then yeah, there's all those chemicals too. And mystery meat. And added soy stuff. And and and...
