you do realize we missed your annual annuals run this year! :sneaky:

I did not take pictures of the Big Pile o' Plants as in past years. Instead of just the traditional
Thursday and Friday frenzy, I started on Monday of that week and took it slower. Went to 2
new-to-me places clear cross-county (twice, each) since they always do a lot of advertising.
Bought some stuff at one place, and will go back to both next Spring.

Dowsized by 6 pots this year (4 veggies, 2 flowers).

Only 1 new perennial ("Endless Summer" hydrangea). It bloomed like mad, but the flowers are
just too heavy for the young stalks, so it's lying pretty flat. Colorful, but flat. If it manages
to Winter over (3 other things have been Winter-killed in that spot) I'll be sure to prop up the
stalks.

Tried 2 new-to-me plants. Bidens Bold Bee (total failure) and something where the name escapes
me right now, but imagine Gerbera at only 4" height. The pot tag lied. So those are disappointing.
Just stick with what you know will work based on past experience.

All caught up now, @tiburonfirst ???

The deck staining is a whole other saga which I simply care to forget. I did not need THAT aggravation
on top of everything else. Just chalk up 2019 as the Spring/Summer that I should just forget. And to
paraphrase @Katmar , "hope for a better next year".

... and something where the name escapes me right now ...

Gazania.

"When growing Gazanias, expect the plant to reach 6 to 18 inches in height and about the same in spread."

The variety I bought said 8"-12". Lies. All lies.

Let's see... what else...

Three first-year skunks are living under the deck. They'll frequently venture out
during the day, but we see them mostly at dusk when they come to gobble up
what's left of Oreo and Sheba's dry food. They really should move on (take up the
food bowls at night) but I - not Hus - would feel really guilty about it. They're not
aggressive and there has been zero spraying. Kinda cute, too. Have not seen the
Mom, ever. I will try to get a couple pictures.

There has also been a HUGE group of ducks ("flock" if flying, "raft, team or paddling"
if in water, "brace" if just on land... so...) There has been a HUGE brace of ducks
that hang out about 4 properties down. A "sub-brace" of them started billing away
under the bird feeders, so I bought a 50-pound bag of cracked corn and scatter a pound
or two around the back yard every day. They'll be out there early morning or evening to
eat it up. No water out back (lack of rain) so no idea WHY they're even hanging around
over there. Those people have no back lawn left. I'd be a bit upset... cute ducks, but I
also like my lawn. Here's a few of them...

amazing, isn't it? ;) but as recently as this morning a link to the fda's warning about vaping thc was censored!
The times, they are a-changin'.

BUT, I'll tell you what (as if you did not already know)... all the news blasts the last
few weeks have been so FULL of bad/irresponsible/non-researched journalism... not
to mention ultra-biased reports from health organizations... something had to be done.

Not that a sub-forum HERE will make any difference, but...

well, the fda did a fairly decent job - putting the blame squarely on thc and vitamin e acetate.
Vaping Illnesses: Help Protect Yourself. Avoid THC Vaping Products.

Mods, tanks, atties as we know them were not deigned for "oils". Equipment is clearly
being misused. I don't recall any news blurbs mentioning that particular fact. And let's
not ignore "cloud chasing" whilst using those "oils". Yeah... THC "oils" with a 0.00001 ohm
coil at 500 watts. Great!

OILS: What comes to mind for me is filling a tank with liquid Wesson. Flo Henderson
would not approve.

Maybe ... maybe... a new sub-category of equipment could be designed for "safe" use
of THC oils. Who knows what the future will bring.

And to put my business in the street: I'm not a fan of "THC" in any form, nor am I
delighted on legalization. That's where I am. PLEASE let me leave it at that. Thank you. :)

    No you can't
Oh, and PS: Why isn't THIS a subject in Outside? Is it not important enough? Yeah, let's
argue about everything else EXCEPT the reason why/how we all found this place at the start.

I started one the other day looking under constitution.

We also have this new area on ECF
