hey, bear! ;)

Wegmans Grand Opening in Raleigh on Sept. 29 :: WRAL.com

the first one is almost ready ;) albeit, 16 miles from the boy's location. i'll probably give it a try but this one would be much more suitable - less than 2 miles! :thumb:

Wegmans coming to Wake Forest :: WRAL.com

all in all - 5 wegmans are coming to the area!
Don't expect a chorus of cherubim and seraphim as you walk through the doors. I suppose it's
all based on how low (or high) the bar is re: grocery stores in your area. It's pretty darn low
around here, so that is MY guess why people simply LOVE the stores.

(I'd also stay away for a while until the novelty wears off.)

Plenty of reasons to like the place, yes. And plenty of things that annoy the hell out of me.

And since you asked, my two largest beefs are:

There are not TWO of those stores (that I have patronized) which have even
SIMILAR layouts. And, even within the departments, products are arranged
differently. (Plus, they are CONSTANTLY moving things around.)

The TILE FLOORS in produce, deli and meat. ALL you are able to hear are
shopping carts rattling around. It's every store, too... so chances are you
will enjoy it as well.

Good morning, all Snails! :) ;)

Bowling this morning, then lunch, then a much needed nap this afternoon, unless I get a second wind.

The kids last night were wonderful; the two babies went to bed early, so the other 3 were a delight to talk to. Nice having a dialogue with them at this age. Sweet, sweet grandbabies!!!

Cya all a bit later! :)

I've only been the area's "flagship" store once, but I absolutely remember the
cobblestone floor in its "Olde World" section. Cobblestone with shopping carts.
What a pleasure!

dey didm't habes 4 wheel dribes dere ? Is dat wat ya sayin :?:
Well, it wasn't the kind of cobblestone you'd find in quaint Italian
villages... not THAT cobbly. Enough to give the look, but way too
rough for rolling a cart across. How anybody thought it's a good idea
is beyond my comprehension.

And yet they continue to build them that way.....:w00t: goes well with the 1 bad cart wheel quite well!

    From November last year:
Snails - Response on Threads Part 8

Last night it was a kettle cover. I put water on the front burner and the cover on the back burner
just "for a moment". Of course, I turned on the back burner, to HIGH. Got distracted and, shortly
afterward, sensed a strange smell, but thought it was the Indian sauce simmering (new recipe).

Got stronger and then I heard a ticking noise.

The back burner glowing red with the cover almost matching. The smell was the knob/handle.
Revere Ware. Grabbed a pot holder and tossed the lid into the sink. What a STINK!

The lid is now a very attractive anodized copper color. No... it really is kind of nice. But the
knob is all bubbly where it meets the metal. Still very functional, though. But, what the hell
with me and turning on the wrong burner? I've done it a number of times (but usually just an
    empty one).
