Hello everybody! Just popping in briefly... then back to assembling Oreo and Sheba's
brand new and larger hut. They've been using the stacked chairs 'n blankets 'n
comforter 'n moving blankets 'n bungee-cords thing in the gazebo until last night.
Coldest of the season so far and they were jammed into the small hut. :)

I found out the one big drawback of a plug-in heated water bowl for outdoors. Can
you identify what it would be? Ugh. ... and a-duh me.

I'll take "Guess the facepalm" for 1000, Alex. What is
Having a plug/cord?
Tripping over the cord, and having you/them "pull" it?
Animals chewing it?
Electric Bill?

One of them is close. If one wants to actually CLEAN the bowl, it needs to be (duh! a-duh!)
UNPLUGGED. At this point, the outlet is in a very awkward spot... in the snow-depth and sub-
zero of Winter, it will be in a very bad spot. So... my solution will be to cut the cord about 8"
from the bowl and install male/female plugs. The joint will be out of the elements, but very
accessible.

(Right now, I'm just dumping the water on the deck, using a paper towel to wipe, then refilling.)

(I suppose I could just continue in that fashion.)

(But I don't want to kick myself in the middle of Winter for NOT doing it the right way and
stuck until July or August when it warms up around here.)

i hope so, dale, but the hospital stay made him very weak. won't be easy to get that little bit of strength back he had before all this started.
