IDK if there's a fixture (light?) open to the ceiling, but if so, bait up a snap mouse-trap, MM. Otherwise, it's the upstairs neighbors or attic (IDK where you are located in the building) that needs to have the trap.

The sound stuff is only so so. You can use decon too, but it's a horrible death for them and IDK that you want to put poison in your ceiling...just sounds like a bad idea for some reason.

I suppose you can talk to Bear about a rescue-cat if allowed in building, but...well...cat's don't live in ceilings and what you really need to do is get the upstairs neighbor to get a cat...
;)

Good morning snails.

New invention: live traps.
Those are less humane than the snap traps. At least it's a pretty quick death with a snap-trap.

Dying in a "live trap" (which is what usually happens) is nasty. How would you like having to eat your own tail while caught in a [live] trap?

If you use a live trap, check it every 6 hours, 12 max. Otherwise they're LESS humane.

There ya go! Checking every so often should fit right
into the busy schedule of a retired person.

Then take the trap w/ mouse to the nearest food-filled
dumpster and let it go.

Mouse gone.

Mouse lives and has food.

The trap can be used again.

Everybody's happy. ...or should be.

I was thinking of the problem-mouse and its location in NYC.

Release it in the woods!... yes!!! It can romp and scamper and frolic.

They got traps that will send a signal to the phone when you caught one... How cool is that.

The right glue trap. Veg oil will let the little guy slip away.

Also got the ones that behead them. No suffering quick and fast.
