"Office now closed."

Opens at 09h30.
They are sending out a new unit.

I then have to cut the power cord from THIS one and send it (the cord) back to them.

STILL need a maker for tomorrow.

Off to Dad's. Stop at Target or Best Buy on the way home.

Later!

In a pinch add coffee to boiling pot of water place double paper tower over cup and strain away.
We have two (2) French presses (Bodum). Still in boxes. I've never even tried one.

Also have an espresso maker.

Went to the Mt. Dora Art Festival yesterday with hubby and sister.
OMG...I am so stiff and sore from all that walking - it was HUGE !
The last bit getting back to the car was uphill...I was almost crawling.
Right hip, flexor muscle and lower back...
Really beautiful art there.
Only came away with a silver, copper and brass bracelet tho.
Found an amazing Parrot - silver, copper and brass hair comb but the 'teeth' were way too short for it to be anything more than a decorative piece so I passed. If it would have functioned to actually secure a bun I would have spent the $125.00 !!
The weather had started out wet and miserable, by noon it started clearing up to be a beautiful day.

Before we got there we stopped at an unknown Mexican place to eat.
Thoroughly enjoyed our food !
I nearly cried when I found out they serve Mexican Coke !
Ordered that and chugged half of it - sooooo delicious !

A good day, but body is paying for it today !

my mom used to make excellent coffee just pouring hot water over the grinds and letting it steep for a bit ;)

Why? You're getting a NEW (revised) coffee maker soon.
AND...this:
French Presses do not come with timers or self-boiling water. Nor do the
plungers plunge themselves.

I take the idiom "wake up and smell the coffee" quite literally. It's an "and"
statement. No time to putz and fuss during the first 3 minutes of semi-lucidity
in the morning.

The espresso maker is also timer-less... but would take only 90 seconds to
turn on and receive product. All 4 ounces of it. :glare:

----------

ANYWAY... left note for Hubs (like last week's dishwasher one) that I'd pick up
a unit on the way home. He called me @ Dad's to let me know HE bought one
on the way home from church. So, we're all set. When the replacement
Cuisinart arrives, I'll test out and put it away as The Spare.

While on the subject...

I believe EVERY coffee maker I've ever owned has/had the "sneak a cup" feature.

Three things:

1. STOP THAT (if you do it) !!! You're ruining the flavor of the rest of the pot. Just STOP.
2. It never stops the flow. Remove the carafe and the coffe-water just keeps on pouring out.
3. The plunger-thingy makes putting the carafe in place un-easy, even for regular use.

I just removed the plunger/stopper/whatever on this one, like all the others.
