Even preparing to prevent any stripped phillips head screws, *I* still managed to maul 2 of them.
But that is YOU... THEY are trained "pros" who do that work on a regular
basis. It would be inexcusable for THEM. ...and maybe @AttyPops , our
    own little Mr. Goodwrench.

Very true...and I was even advised by one of the head/senior mechanics at the stealership; it pays to have been the director of a motorcycle club. We were on the phone for close to an hour at the beginning of last week and I was texting him pics and he was explaining everything. I bought a hand impact driver and nice set of ball peen hammers; I was 4 for 6 on the darn screws.

    WTG Mad. :)
Old screws, nuts, bolts are a pain!
I broke a 1/2" breaker bar on 17 YO axle nuts. That included beating on it, penetrating oil and heating it. Was ready to just cut it all off when it finally broke free. I don't own an impact wrench, but this one would have taken a large one...I could have rented one, but meh.

Anyway, glad you got it done. Way to go. :)
