One load of laundry to hang then it's off to firewood duty (minimal).

I had firewood duty for 10 years since it was our only real heat source in the house. I haven't turned on the electric baseboard heaters since we moved in, well the first month we moved in our electric bill was 600 bucks and that was the only time we used the heaters... never again. I got all the breakers shut off. 5 years ago I installed a Harman XXV pellet stove and its great, no more firewood hassles and MESS. We use 3 tons of pellets(150 bags) from the end of Sept to late April, so it costs us @600US bucks to heat our house for the winter. Love my pellet stove.

Welcome to the Snails thread, alter:) Firewood is my preference. No moving parts,no need to vacuum it out.

I just simply got tired of handling firewood 5 times before it got into the fireplace.
1-off the ground into the trailer
2-out of the trailer into the back yard
3-chop the wood..can't forget you have to make kindling, didn't like chopping kindling at 20 below in 2 feet of snow.
    4-stack the wood
    5-bring wood into the house
I'm not even going to get into how many times I smoked out the house if I got a downdraft and the soot all over. My favorite was trying to get a pea sized ember to burn at 3am as I was going to work so the fire wouldn't go out before I got back home.
Here's a vid I made of the installation of the pellet stove. The brick and off colored underlay is where the old fireplace was in the middle of the wall and I put the stove into the corner

Naturally I know nothing about your FB profile, I was referring to your ECF profile ;)
And furthermore... if you upload any personal .jpg files (pics YOU
took, particularly around your home), the EXIF data may contain
GPS data if the pic was taken with certain devices. Looney-tunes-
on-the-loose can find your front door. Word... to the wise.
