Airbnb doesn't do that. However, I did have insurance. I spoke with the travel insurance company last week and they said they would pay for hotels and food, but not gas. I had the choice of being reimbursed for the policy cost: $130. Or pay for the policy, and they would pay for hotel and food. I had a net of $70 to keep the policy and they pay for hotel and food. It was a lot more hassle to do it this way. I opted to get refunded for the policy and be done with this hell. it was time to move on.
I never had a problem with airbnb. that includes the U.S. and around the world. This wasn't airbnb's fault or really the owner's fault. It was an unfortunate circumstance that the pepper got involved with. The owner was looking after herself and losing thousands of dollars; and the pepper was looking out for himself and thousands of dollars.
I kinda of feel sorry for her, but she tried to make her problem mine. I briefly looked for a place before deciding to come home, but it's really difficult to decide on a place looking at your phone and making a last minute decision when you're dead tired... and it involves around 4 thousand dollars. Let this situation be buried.
p.s. The Pepper isn't drinking again this wknd because he's just starting to feel jovial again. And he never drinks when he's upset (most of the time
). I am really looking forward to next wknd. And can't wait to tell you what I have been planning for my 3-4 month trip next year. But that will have to wait until the New Year.Be well, my friends. And remember to be nice to The Pepper during his time of difficulty. Thank you for your cooperation.
no different than any other sources for vacation rentals. if you get the wrong people in there they can sure leave a mess. for pepper it apparently was so bad the regular cleaning person walked off the job - leave it to pepper to find a condo with the worst succession
