For those that care (that would be "most of you"... and those who do not
care can bite me, eat me and lick me, simultaneously... and you know
who you are... is that enough to cure a problem here?) Dad's in hospital
waiting to be placed into "long term care".

So, my presence here (or other threads) may be scarce and brief for a
    while. Simply FYI.
Aw Bear, sorry it’s come to that :( (((Hugs)))

hang in there, bear! and remember, atm the hospital cannot discharge your dad till they find a place for him at rehab. i know that's little comfort to you but rehab, once he gets there, might pull off a bit of a miracle. take it one day at the time and keep an eye on the system.

please, direct that question to opec before anything else ;)

Really? Hmmm, we did need OPEC before 1/20/21--at least in the recent past. We were energy independent. Wonder how that happened? (rhetorical) Don't even get me started, baby.:D Hope ur having a wonderful day with the boy and whomever. ;)

lol, just because we exported more than we imported, or produced more than consumed, does not make us energy independent. talk to me again when we have a total disengagement from the global energy market. you know, that's zero imports ;)
we still import millions of barrels every day ;)

Incorrecto (a little spanish lingo for ya), we produced more energy than we used each day--PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(did i make my point?) OPEC meant nothing to us, now the biden adm. is begging them to produce more oil. And then the stupid Germans (Merkel) allowed themselves to become dependent upon Russian gas. That's a great arrangement isn't it? (insert sarcasm). What could go wrong with Putin controlling whether you have heat or not during the winter? (rhetorical question). The political leadership in the west is on a suicide mission of western civilization. It's the end of the world.............. and I feel fine.:) "Left of the west and coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck.":)

You know better than to mess wid The Pepper.

p.s. you said, "talk to me again when we have a total disengagement from the global energy market." That's not how global markets work, especially the energy market. The bottom line is we didn't OPEC and they knew it. We are now vunerable to them and other evil regimes. thank you and have a nice day.:)

That still doesn't answer the question - what happened???
    I don't know.

WHY did gas go to over $4.25 back in 2008? I remember that because I opted
for a $2.99/gal card (for 3 years) with my new car. Bad choice. I should have
went with the $2K cash back.

    Gas went up.

    Gas came down.

    Things go up.

    Things come down.

    Doesn't that define a "cycle"????

MAYBE (maybe) like the weather. But let's not get into THAT in here.

Whatever goes UP must come down.

Whatever goes down cannot KEEP going down.

The paranoia these days is overwhelming. No. Really. It is. And sad.

Like germs on our shopper's club card.

Why did something have to "happen"??? Why can't it just be a natural cycle?
