With spam, "unsubscribe" is often an acknowledgement that you received the email and the address is valid/active. Could also be a link to more serious/nasty stuff. Unless it is a service that you trust and that you subscribed to, do not "unsubscribe" particularly if the address in the link is fishy at all.

Before You Hit “Unsubscribe” on Unwanted Emails, Read This First

You could try a spam filter in your email client to automatically move anything containing "Donald Trump" or ["President" and "Trump"] to your trash bin.
i did that, atty - i don't even want to see it in my spam :D

and i do check what's in spam. occasionally, there are mishaps and an email has to be retrieved. ;) and as far as that pepper is concerned and his interpretation of 'blocking'
Yes, a blocked address can still send you emails. The only difference is that emails from block addresses will not appear in your inbox. Rather, they are housed in the Spam folder of your Gmail automatically.

so, it's ok in your book for certain official websites NOT to honor unsubscribe requests? in my book that says a lot about the ethics involved. but most of us knew that already

I would look at the source of that email, rather than jumping to conclusions that the individual listed in the email sent the email or his/her representatives. For all you know joe biden sent it to you. Of course if joe did send it, he wouldn't remember sending it. So, if he doesn't remember sending it, did he really send it? These are the questions you need to pose to yourself today. That should keep your bz for a little while today. Don't mess with the Pepper. You know better than that.:-x:wub:

p.s. I get spam that states: "African elongation secrets" . Do I jump to conclusions and blame Africa for the spam.:D NO!!! I don't know where it's coming from because I have never opened it.
