OMGosh. The GFCI outlet that my chest freezer in the garage (it's been the warmest week of the year here) is plugged in to got tripped. I believe it was Sunday. I hadn't been in there since Saturday. I probably lost about $500 in meat & seafood. It could have been worse. I was considering going to Costco last week to stock up with about $500 more of meat. I didn't.

I went ahead and reset the switch to freeze everything to take away the smell. I'm going to leave it in there until monday of next week when I put out the trash.

:(

It's not going to be pretty, people. I looked in the freezer after having it run for about 5 hours. OMGosh. There's like this soupy mess at the bottom. So even after I throw all of the meat and stuff that are in packages--the easy part--then I'll have to let it defrost and manually clean the rest of it by hand.:glare: Please pray for the pepper.:nun::D

    No you can't
    courage, pepper! (((hugs)))

i learned the hard way too - never run a fridge or freezer where it's out of sight!

You know it's 2022 - we have something called wi-fi and android phones. Its amazing what we can do these days.

Video that explains it all out in easy to follow instructions.
