Catching up...
I told the appliance repair place what the trouble is,
the part which needs replacing. The tech came out
yesterday, spent MAYBE 4 minutes, and told me exactly
what I told THEM last week. The part could have been
on the truck and ready yesterday. Now, next Tuesday.
Landline repair... appointment yesterday for 1p-5p
changed to 3p-7p, and then again to 4p-8p. This is
after waiting 9 days. Ended up being a no-show with
next arrival being October 20th. 20th. 20th. 22 MORE
days on top of the already-9. I am NOT done with them.
FIFTH TIME for same problem since May this year.
The only thing that worked out was the tree company and
deciding what to do with mutant maple (and 2 locust, and
the 40 foot hedgerow... those all added in). The price is
more than fair and shall be done before snowfall... but who
can say? They will also cable the remains of the maple.

We are just fine here.
Had some strong gusts and lost power for a few minutes but that was all.
I even went in to work yesterday and today for a bit.
