strange, smt's 11-letter name doesn't fit while with mine 12 letters are no problem :?:
That's because you're special!!!

That ^^^^^^^ is why I asked Classy to change my user name to SMT. But nooooo, new Xenforo not only made me ShowMeTwic with a lost 'e' but new XF requires 4 character user names. Old XF allowed 3 character u-names.

I asked for SMT*... but Classy said...
...sitting on my fingers.

You really want SMT* ?
it's a pain to *
How can it be a pain to '*'... I mean ya know simple 'shift 8'. :headbang:

Out of frustration I asked for Ralph (not my real name BTW)... but that was taken. :glare:

Classy then showed me that SMT is displayed correctly...

...it has something to do with screen width.

At the end of a long back and forth in the Random DIY thread, I was talked out of changing my u-name.

While SMT is correct about screen width, and thus also font size, your question is more specific, since on the same screen with the same font, yours "works" and his "doesn't". This is due to the type of font and something called "kerning" that happens with proportionally-spaced fonts.
Simply put, the total width of all his letters is slightly wider than the total width of all your letters. And apparently you're squeezing in under the letter/word-wrap boundary and he isn't. For your setup.
Change the font, the font size, the browser's magnification/the screen width of things, or whatever to get it to calc the "available space" differently. Or live with it. ;)

lol, how can it be screen width when my username shows on one line but not yours? :?:
 Your user name uses skinnier letters than mine.

My S, M, T and two 'w' made my user name fat and wide (like Atty said)!!!

Makes me think that going all lower case still will leave me with a lost 'e'.

I would be fine if I took out the S, M, T and two 'w'... and went with this...

*ho*me**ice

...using all skinny characters for my user name.

that reminds me - did you make it to at least one soccer game while in europe?
Yes and No. LOL My brother got tickets for a game in Florence. The game was scheduled for 6pm on a sunday. After the tickets were purchased on-line thru a ticket broker, he had problems with the guy sending the tickets. Well, we did finally get them at 2:48pm. We took a $30 uber ride each way to the game. When we started getting close, our driver said it looks like the game is over. It was. They changed the time of the game for 3pm. lol They apparently do that over there. The guy that sold us the tickets was scamming us. When we contacted the ticket broker, they promptly refunded his money. So, no, we didn't. But it wasn't for trying both in madrid, and florence.

The cooking will commence shortly, or better said, the prep of the meal will start soon. Call me Luigi Pepper for the rest of the day. Ingredients: 5 jumbo eggs--2 for pasta dough, 3 yolks for carbonara sauce; Locatelli Pecorino Romano cheese; cubed pancetta, traditional is Guanciale (pig jowl); Caputo Italian 00 flour; Bigoli rolling attachment for pasta; baguette. We're also having a mixed insalata with arugula and other lettuces--dressing is a simple extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Wine may be included before, during, and after the meal.:bluewink:
