Well, you could always try something like quoting the post (to get the proper [quote] thing) and editing the contents in BBCode. For now.

Already tried that and it just showed up as text as if I had written it :(
Not a linked quote.

I don't want them to show as the first post...thought that got taken care of - guess not.
It works exactly the same way over on VU. Always shows the first post. I think that's the way the Xenforo folks designed/coded the 2.x release. Perhaps there is an option under the hood for changing it???

and just how do you get that.
I right-click on the post number.

Right-click gives me this...

I copy the link location. Type the following: "and just how did you get that" from your post.

"Insert link" from the editor toolbar and you get --- and just how did you get that

Clicking on the URL takes you to your post.

Everything I try either gives me useless junk or the first post of the thread.
In the New site thread I clicked reply on your post.

Then did a copy/paste of your post into the editor in this thread.

So...
I am a wee bit (REALLY) excited at the moment...all of my organizing has been done and the descriptions are gone from the front page (hover to see them)
Go to the front page and refresh...
Look how beautiful and organized the front page looks now !!

(all that's left is just a little bit of straggler clean up inside subs)

Any member can then go to your post in the "New site" thread by clicking on your user name in the above quote. Your user name is an embedded URL.

I'm just beat and want things to work right and be a nice inviting place.
Really...3 months to get the organization completed that should have been done before launch. 3 months.
So and so has to check with so and so who has to get permission from so and so.
No, that's not correct, not what I said, it needs to be blahablahblah...then again so and so has to check with so and so who has to get permission from so and so...
And this was AFTER the battle to stop major stuff all being merged together. ( all the Lounge stuff was getting dumped into General Vaping Discussion. All the liquid stuff was getting dumped together. All the device and hardware and Modding Forum was getting dumped together. That's just some of it. It was horrifying.

I do think most of us truly appreciate all your efforts Classy. :thumb:

In my experience major software upgrades are always messy when little to no pre-planning takes place.

The new version of XF is working well. It does have an inviting feel. There are some things we lost with the 2.x upgrade but workarounds exist for most. Like our hidden Birthdays and Notable Members pages.

No matter what kind of software upgrade is implemented there will always be those who won't be comfortable with the New. Eventually people get used to using the new and do develop a comfort level.

I think you and Alex (and her team) did a fine job.
