This past Saturday, the air cylinder (height adjustment) gave
out and I came crashing down. Scared the hell out of me and
I'm surprised no top teeth were knocked out.
(The post above says I have had the chair since 2002... thought
for sure it was 2005. Whatever.)
Immediately looked to replace the whole chair. NEW Herman
Miller "Aeron" chairs now begin in the $1700 range! I figured:
I love the chair, it's lasted many many years and many many
hours... it owes me nothing.
Ended up just replacing the cylinder... upgraded hard wheels to
softer "rollerblade" style, and added a headrest. 3 days from
ordering to installation.
Up and running.
But, from the post above, I never did replace the seat. Mended
the hole with nylon thread... and needs to be shored up again.
Now caught up from 2017.
