A local weather-imbicile referred to this current system as
a "gyre".

So... I looked it up.

"Gyre"s are WATER-BASED... specifically: oceans. I was
unable to find that term associated with overland weather
systems.

He was also the one who brought the term "bombogenesis"
into vogue around here a couple-few years back.

I'd enjoy giving him a sucker-punch, followed by an uppercut.
