Sorry to hear about your tornado Atty and the fright it must have given you two. Despite the many many tornadoes we get in our area I’ve never actually been in one.

Good morning Dale and Fran. Same as far as actually being in a tornado, although it's been close before. I had one form just over my head, but it didn't connect. It just swirled down for a second and then disappeared.

Good morning Dale and Fran. Same as far as actually being in a tornado, although it's been close before. I had one form just over my head, but it didn't connect. It just swirled down for a second and then disappeared.

Our heat index was high....like around 110F...very very humid at 90F, so felt really hot as you couldn't cool yourself with evaporation. Highest humidity at that temp ever.


And probable tornado. Lots of limbs down, lots of power loss. But this time I'm lucky, still have power. GF in the city doesn't.
I stayed with her until the storm passed. We had to go downstairs when the sirens went off. Scary.

We don't get that stuff in Brooklyn. Instead we get knifings, gun shots and hammer beatings or worse.

It was an EF1 two or three miles south of me. The area by GF is also pretty "hit" but it wasn't in that path, so maybe straight-line winds? Or a small tornado that isn't official.

She still doesn't have power. Expecting tomorrow am. But she's OK. Sleeping through it mostly.

Close for us too (both my house and her house) but blessed that we're OK and no major damage, thank God. Lots of trees down South of me. Some roofs gone, closed down a highway with a roof across it. Glad it was limited to an EF1 or it would have been much more deadly.

My mom's place may have been hit by a weak tornado a couple of weeks ago. She got heavy rain and wind which blew her heavy metal patio furniture off the porch. She also lost electricity. I only live a few miles from her and nothing happened here. Not a single drop of rain. My uncle said it was a tornado that hit mom's place and his place. He had some large, round bales of hay scattered. Those things are heavy.

103 again today, I’m heartily sick of summer . ‘DH and I are both still picking at stuff in the refrigerator, not really hungry. I’ll probably have to do some cooking this weekend though as the refrigerator is mostly empty now.
