IBM Creates Artificial Neurons That Learn By Themselves
Historically, AI is a simulator...where a program(s) "runs
through" each neuron/synapse and "does the math" iteratively. Like calculating an array of data. But with this new tech, the individual "circuits" operate on their own probably in parallel. So that's a HUGE break
through. Like silicon-based life would have I'd suppose.
After absorbing that, you know what surprised me the most? This quote:
Each neuron has 10,000 synapses? Wow. Those are the "gap" things in nerves, right? And they play a role in all the connecting-up too. Sounds real complex.
IDK what IBM's version has. It's more than just all those neurons, it's all those synapse thingys.
