Yes, you are correct ... unless you decide to take the bottom tank apart to clean, that has to have the center pin removed to accomplish
Mine aren't too bad to get apart but I've used them some and I have a special tool that helps when something is stuck.

I never felt the love for Kayfuns but do have a couple including the 5 Pawns that are also in the stash drawer...That should help unless you over wicked

It's not a problem YET... I was just clarifying with you that, indeed,
the upper part of the tanks does not screw into anything. It seems
like an odd setup. NOTHING holds it all together except a simple
press fit.
