morning, kat, ces and bear! ;)

lol @ that bear - on the way home yesterday my car reached 55,555.5 miles :D
I cannot see tenths of a mile on ^that^ odometer (unless it's in "trip" mode...
but then I cannot see full mileage).

.........

Happy Tuesday to everybody. Schools around here all start up today, so there
will be those lumbering stop-every-20-feet aggravating banana boats on the
road. I wonder what new safety feature will have been added this year? We've
seen:
..."stop signs" that flap out from the sides
..."toll gate arms" that also flap out from the sides
...reflective stripes, more and more every year
...cameras to catch passers' license plates
...flashing lights by the dozen
...last year: STROBE LIGHTS on the back for bus BRAKING, NOT just stopping
(and those have also been added to emergency vehicles as well... those boxy
ambulances, there must be a DOZEN on the back and when they all light up,
you get a sunburn should you be following the meat wagon) What happens
when an epileptic is exposed to that flashing???

And gone are the days where kids congregated in one spot... now those buses
stop at EACH and EVERY house that has a little snot-nosed-entitled brat. It
makes passing impossible. The red flashing lights NEVER go off. Grr.

Ugh, first morning of 4-day work week. Don't get me wrong...glad for the day off, just not too thrilled about the "compressed" workload. :p

Good morning, MadO...at least it's only compressed for 4 days....:D

Forgot to curmudgeon further... and are those kids WAITING OUTSIDE
BY THE ROAD?!?! Oh, no no no no no!!! They are safely mollycoddled
INDOORS, so we (stuck behind one of those things) need to wait while the
rugrat pokes and dawdles TO the bus (and we have some large front yards
around here) THEN the doors open, then we wait even longer until they
are seated -and- buckled in. THEN the door closes and the lights go yellow.

That's when I burn rubber around that gigantic playpen-on-wheels...
before it approaches the NEXT HOUSE and the lights go red (yet) again.

    Grr.
