I believe my retirement accounts (with pre-tax funds) are fully taxable once withdrawals start.ahem, bear!

The ones with post-tax funds are subject to capital gains... and woe if those are short-term.
Year after year after year. Even if no withdrawals are made.
Other post-tax things (ie: bank accounts) have taxes on the interest. Year after year after
year.
Conclusion: I'm being taxed right up the old H. Highway. (Isn't that so much better than
the "Golden Girls" a-word???)

Trying to make myself clean
We're just about done here....have a few last minute things to tuck away outside later on and then we're ready.
We met with our neighbors and we have a tentative plan as long we can stay voluntary evac. No news to the contrary right now, but keeping an ear out for that. They have a generator and two freezers, so that's all good. Made the last trip to the store to get C cells for weather radio and some more non-perishables.
I just dread the wind.......last hurricane back in '04, I stayed in the 'safe room' with our dog Shaka with pillows over my head cause the sound was horrendous and this hurricane sounds like it's going to be a repeat or even worse than '04.
Miraculously, the only damage we sustained back then were some fallen tree limbs.....
OK.....break over and have to get some other stuff done.
