ZOIKS!!!
Pretty much,GracieLooks like you're prepared for a warm and toasty winter, Fran!
What a dark, gloomy, wet day out there. So, I'll drop the "good" and
just say "Morning" to everybody. :: sigh ::
I really wanted to finish the pruning/trimming today, but everything
is just dripping wet. I suppose there are a few other things to tackle
out there.
And today is the annual newspaper blast about New York's "unclaimed
funds"... and how all kinds of riches may be yours:
http://www.democratandchronicle.com...0/13/database-check-unclaimed-funds/91935098/
So, I know EXACTLY what Dad will be talking about when I call him...
as he does EVERY year, without fail. And I will have to repeat myself
as I do every year, without fail. There is *NO WAY* to provide the
REQUIRED information needed so he can claim funds left to my Mom
by my Grandmother. (I think I have ranted/raved before...)... How
can he (I?) connect HIM to my grandmother's address on-file when he
NEVER LIVED THERE?... and NEITHER DID MY MOTHER? If you call
the comptroller, it is IMPOSSIBLE to talk to a person. It's a phone
tree with zero option of "speak to a human".
I have submitted as much info as possible and it always comes back
with the REQUIREMENT of showing how HE is "connected" with MY
GRANDMOTHER'S address. "Old utility bills", "tax returns", "deed"
(it was an APARTMENT you BASS HOLES), etc.
But I think that is just the tip of the iceberg. He would also have to
provide my Grandmother's AND my Mother's death certificates... he
would ALSO have to prove he was sole heir in my Mom's will (of which
she had NOTHING, pretty much)... and then there is my Mom and Dad's
marriage certificate to prove he is the surviving spouse.
:: grrr ::
But he does not HEAR all that or SEE it when I show him the reply
correspondence.

"They" will NOT disclose the amount. It's a mystery. Some Big Secret. If it's any amount of money, get an attorney.
