Spend your hard earned $$$$ on a good set of grooming tools instead...IMO.

I think I spent about $200+ for a good set of tools for my Fido. After making mistakes with inferior stuff, of course. But grooming visits were $80+ dollars for him too.

The best way to deal with matts....cut them out. It will hurt the animal to try to "save the hair" and pull the tangles out of the mat. It CAN be done for small knots/tangles...if you can hold the hair at the base and pull the knot out with a slicker-brush. But if you can't get hold of it at the base with your fingers, cut it out instead. Pulling on it can hurt the animal (you can scrape the mat gently over several minutes, but mostly a cat won't have patience for this anyway).

Basically, you need to keep that area on Zuzu short (like trim it every week). OR you need to comb it every day. But arm-pits and crotch area, maybe under belly or other problem areas...you'll want to trim.

Cats are smaller though, so IDK for sure. The professional Andis series (higher end stuff) are decent and have a lot of "heads" you can swap. I'd recommend corded rather than cordless, but that's me. Check that you get the pro types with standard heads. You may need some additional heads too. A close one probably comes with it.

Otherwise, good combs and grooming scissors (round tip), and a SLICKER BRUSH but only use that very gently because it pulls. And don't forget nails and pads.

Get on youtube and watch professional grooming videos and stay away from the waste-of-money crap or you'll end up spending double. ;) Ask me how I know.

Going with something like the Pro Andis stuff is quite expensive...it'd take some serious "training/familiarization" sessions to get Zuzu comfy with it and even then I may not be successful.

^^^ Looking "iffy".
They don't have an immediate signal from the surface. They are in a "don't jump to conclusions" mode; they have to wait for further data. Could take hours to analyze the data to know if the probe landed or not. Which is odd, since it's a 10 minute delay and I would assume the probe would be relaying continual info for a while after landing. But maybe there's some "wait" time in there. IDK.

So we wait to see if it survived landing.

EDIT: More info...this is a "normal wait" while the satellite goes into orbit around Mars.
So, it looks like we are in this for the long haul. Using the Indian radio telescope was always a long shot and something of an experiment - the Schiaparelli lander was never designed to transmit directly to Earth.

The main route to confirming the landing was always designed to be by analysing the data recorded by the Mars Express spacecraft. That orbiter is now getting ready to point to Earth, rather than at the Schiaparelli lander, and relay its recordings to Earth, where they will be analysed.

Well, you may wish to start with just scissors and a few combs/brushes. :)

Hi Bear, you sure have been quiet :?:
It's "that time of year", @daleron It always follows "my time of year".

Taking down and emptying the hanging pots, pulling up the in-ground plants,
the entire yard and deck looking pretty barren and messy with leaves. Pretty
soon will be the covering up of outdoor furniture. It all tends to subdue me
for a while. It passes, though.

Aw, I'm sorry it makes you feel that way. I love the Fall season.

My cat Shadow loved baths ! He would stand up with his head between the faucet and the tub and let the water flow all over him. Made it really easy to scrub him up.
    Merlin...NOPE !!!
(but he does love to get a wet washcloth bath)

Hiya Classy one and the rest of ya snails too. :)

Mad...if they work for you, cool. I'm not being snobby about tools. Just make sure you get good ones and avoid gimmick ones because it works better. :)

When I went with trimmers, and ended up with the good-industry-standard ones. But you may not even need them at all. :)

Snails, your input please! What are you using for wall chargers?

My wall charger done up and died! I was using a I/O brand 5 volt 1.5 amp 2000mA dual port and it lasted me four years......I've been looking for a replacement to charge my I -Sticks, etc. and all the amperage ratings I could find are 2.4.....am afraid of that much power for my I-Sticks.

    Any input is appreciated!

    Oh man!
I'm using an OLD version of a 2-port TrustFire multi-functional charger. HOWEVER: They revised it several times since then. I remember people having...uh..."discussions" with people saying how they hated the new one and/or claimed !fire! and/or malfunction. I've never had a problem with mine, but I can't speak for others nor for the newer ones.

I'd check CURRENT reviews on whatever you get.

Oh wait...you mean A/C to USB converters?

Get the highest amps possible. It will only "draw" what it needs. :) No worries.

Thank you ever so much Atty! You don't know how much you relieved me by telling me that. I've been told that I could have an exploded battery using higher than 1.5 amps.....that scared the blump out of me.
Was also told that if it didn't exceed 5 volts, it would be good to go.

This is the one I bought and am leery of using.........

Yeah, see....it's a "5 volt power supply" with a max amp draw rating of 2.4 amps per port.

What I don't know is what "iSmart Technology" is and what it does.

See that's not the charger, that's the power supply FOR the charger. Make sure you use the right charger for the e-cig you're charging. If you're using USB charge-port on the e-cig it's probably fine, but IDK about "smart wall warts". ;)

So USB voltage is ALWAYS 5 volts. ;)
Amps are "drawn" from the power converter....it will support a max draw of 2.4 amps.

    When it comes to iSmart...i'mDumb.
    :)

I've been told that I could have an exploded battery using higher than 1.5 amps.
That would only happen if the CHARGER was designed wrong to begin with or some other such thing. I suppose there could be a situation whereby a crap-charger was restricted from blowing up a battery because someone used a low-amp wall-wart so it didn't over-heat the battery. But that would really be a charger design flaw.

Amps don't PUSH...so the amp rating is an amp-DRAW-MAX. It's the voltage that "pushes" the current...and for USB it's a nominal 5 volts regardless of amps drawn. Voltage is constant for USB (at least for our discussion here).

Basically the amp rating is how much max draw it can give out (before refusing to give out more and/or getting stressed out). Having head-room is generally considered a good thing! :)

Thanks Atty! Yea, that's what I meant.....basically, a wall wart.

I'm still in a quandry cause of my lack of understanding all of this.......read all I could about amps/wattage etc., and came back even more confused. :)
At this point, I don't know the right charger for the I-Stick......what am I, a newbie? I've been having a lot of these brain lapses lately.....not liking it one bit.
