Have they ever considered making the entire country pseudo-uni-timezone for
that one night... the entire country STOPS voting at xxh00 GMT??? I hear-tell
the surfer babes and dudes can be affected by what goes on out East... either
bothering to vote at all OR casting a vote based on what has happened 3000
miles away. But that's just hearsay.

Time zones, of course, represent the movement of the sun and are reflected in people's "biological clocks" (circadian rhythm). So resetting it for a day would give all the people not in the favored-zone the equivalent of "jet lag" as well as causing a stink for "voter tampering" as some would have to get up earlier or later due to polls closing an non-standard times.
I assume they'd use central time or mountain time as such a favored-zone.
It's bad enough that we have DST coming up soon thereafter.

I mentioned "whatever o'clock, GMT". But then you have the saps that
have to work and don't get out until whatever o'clock because they "have
to work" because "we have 2 daughters in Indiana State"... while the
slave parents drop over into an early work-induced grave... giving those
2 daughters 1.) a FREE education and 2.) early inheritance and 3.) no
sense of responsibility or insight into real-world life.

2nd time today the grey and white cat was not there when I went to
put food down. He's been there EVERY time - mornings and evenings -
the past (almost)-two-weeks. With last night being Halloween, it's
