I should have started this yesterday, but let me keep y'all posted
as to the forecast:
  • Disintegration
  • Destruction
  • Devolving
of Christmas Day weather up here.

As you will recall... Friday:

Yesterday, although I did not capture it:
High of 39 degrees
~1" of snow

Today we see:

Trend:
...getting colder
...switch to ice from snow

It just gets better and better.

i believe that was a routine recommendation by his doctor - every longtime smoker should be kept an eye on, even those who have quit or switched to vaping.

that said, i hope all goes well with frannie's hubs' scan

Check for lung cancer:(
Are there symptoms?... or is this just a case of "let's scare
the :censored: out of him for no reason whatsoever"?

See, I am so VERY ticked at my primary doctor. He put me
though the latter (above) for the second time for the same
"oh let's just go and take a look" thing. I look forward to my
May appointment with him.

Preventive/Preventative things are OK, to a point. But if there
are no symptoms warranting poking and prodding and scaring,
then maybe we just need to keep tabs... set a baseline...
"watchful waiting" as THEY like to call it.

I thought I was just getting a CT scan of the bladder. But the
report also included kidneys, liver, prostate, "junk", aorta and
heart. I'm kind of THINKING if they went THAT high, that the
lungs would have also been mentioned and/or checked out...
being a smoker and all (that's my MD's favourite excuse...
"because you're a smoker").

Anyway @FranC... here's wishing Hubs and you a non-eventful
analysis.

I get the 1st-degree EVERY visit with my primary. He knows how much I smoke
and how long I have been smoking. So WHY has he not sent me for any lung or
chest "routine recommendations"? Maybe because it won't be as intrusive and
uncomfortable and, well, undignified as the 09jan17 cystoscopy. "Let's punish him
for no apparent reason."

Yes,it's routine as far as we know. No symptoms at all. Just makes us very nervous.
this is good.

I wish everyone got a complete head to toe MRI every 5 years just as standard practice. But that's no radiation and it doesn't detect everything.

You know, I bet in 30 years that's what will happen, and it will all be auto-analyzed by a computer. Step into a booth or lay down in an old-tech MRI...then get scanned. Every 5 years.

The docs just LOVE that!!!

I'm convinced they get a kickback.
I've heard that they own a lot of the testing facilities also, or are in on the test stuff. If they're smart. They don't get paid crap for their time with patients.

Every time I go to my PCP, he wants to do more tests. Mostly they come back okay, but add stress to an already anxious mind. Some come back a little shaky, which further stresses an anxious mind. Then that anxious mind has to wait for MORE tests to see if there IS something seriously wrong. And you know what that does to the already SUPER anxious mind, at that point!

Have a good night, Snails, sleep well, pleasant dreams and a better tomorrow for all!! :)
