Sorry about the health care issues,Bear:(
You should feel sorry for THEM. I'm sticking pins in
voodoo effigy dolls... ones that were given to me by
a Mambo friend ( Mambo (Vodou) - Wikipedia ).
They should all be writhing on the floor in pain right
about now.

    Oh-and-by-the-way...

I found out just a few minutes ago that I have *NO* health
care coverage. Because the state has been a bag of :censored:s
    about the 1040 thing.

But!... I was told "not to worry"! I should just save all my
receipts (between 01jan17 and "when you are validated")
and I will be reimbursed. Isn't that thoughtful of them?!?!

So... "that thing" which may be happening next Monday...
I'll need to pay out of pocket. From what I see on the 'net,
it can range anywhere from $350 to over $3500. I should
    just re-schedule.

If all that sounds just a bit too-polite for ME... you can be
sure I am extremely perturbed at the gang of :censored:wads
at the New York State Of Health building at the moment.
No, I take that back... since 16nov16. The steaming pieces
    of :censored:.

If you can safely reschedule, I would, until this mess is squared away.

Good morning, Tibs, Dale, Classy, retired and Frannie :). Could NOT get in through FF. Had to use Chrome. What's that about, I wonder?

I couldn't get on for a long time this morning...and then got kicked out again (FF here)
    Operator error? :D

    riiiiight...

The whole back-story is it probably had something to do with me reporting Classy for "evading the forum censor"... ;)

The admins are just having fun with me.
Wait until I get random suspensions...

That was soooo last week !

Finally, yes. No call from a nurse this time. The Dr called himself. No lung cancer (big sigh of relief) but he does have other lung issues caused from years of being a mechanic. Another CT Scan in 3 months, not sure why. Dr. is going to set up breathing tests for possible asthma.

Well...that is good news mostly !

    @SilverBear

    Reschedule that mess !

Oops. Now I can't "like" that post...after all that time I spent looking up why it's a bad idea, because YOU asked.
    It's $66/year for each appliance.

ONE house call ... plus labour ... plus any parts... :: doing math ::

They were $999 (MSRP) each in 2012 and I do believe replacements
of that brand/size/specs are right around the same now.

    Yep. PER YEAR.

Let's say one of them fails within a 10 year period. How much do you pay. $660.00
How much do you think the repair will be?

    I won't do it for 10 years.

    2012 and 2013 = manufacturer's 100% warranty
    2014 cost for 3 years ('14, '15, '16 was $27/year/per)
    2017 is $66

The next time, 2020 will (probably) be too high to justify if the
trend in increases continues. But I'll be sure to ask you again at
    that time! :)

So glad the scan turned out good! The other issues probably can be taken care of medicinally, so that's good.

    Heya all y'all.

glad the news wasn't bad for your Hubby, Fran.

Hope you get the insurance fixed quickly, Bear.

Hop you're feeling better Classy and Katmar.

Tibs, i assume you're expecting snow as well? We might get a bit, so I'm going to "work at home" tomorrow. Classes don't start til next week, so this week is mostly catching up anyway. Our possible 1-3 inches is nothing next to what Atty and Bear and Fran get...but even the threat is enough to shut us down....
