Not sure I'll be able to post later for lack of focus.

Good luck Tibs & Fran & Dale.

IDK Classy, you may depending on estimated income vs actual income and the kick-backs you get that you may not have "deserved" so you may get a 1099 because you made more money then you thought you would when you guessed last year?

Hi all, flyby.
Cousin Wheels trip extraordinaire complete.

Possibly due to Steve's disability starting since they consider that income and you have to pay taxes on it - but that didn't start till middle of 2016 so how would that affect the year until next year ?

I can't wait to have mine done, Gracie. My BF had hers done and she is seeing better than she ever has. This is a good thing. May you be as fortunate as her! :)

I'll say goodnight now, Snails. Sleep well, pleasant dreams and a better tomorrow for all :)

Really windy here, too, and supposed to continue ALL night! Geez....

I'm not all sure what's going on Classy.

But for the ACA, you estimate what your income WILL BE for the year, and then you get your policy and the costs are subsidized or not based on that income estimate.

And it changed mid-year. And maybe you were supposed to switch over or adjust the insurance when a change like that happens??????????????????????????

    IDK.

So who is the 1099 from? That should tell you more.

    My mom needs hers done.
She's "thinking about it" which means...no until she's blind as a bat.
She's SUUUUUUUUPER paranoid about anything near her eyes. Like maybe childhood trama from a poke in the eye? IDK what it is, but they can't even get her to let them do the old-style glaucoma test. They do it differently now, but still.

She can't imagine going through that unless they knock her out. And at her age, they won't do that. Too dangerous.

Tell her they will sedate her enough that she won't care. They won't put her under, but she won't care...

    Hmmm.

If it's a SSA-1099, that's normal. They send those out in the beginning of the year to people on SS. Everyone gets one.

But if it's taxable or not depends on the tax code. I would think usually not taxable.

Sometimes that's more like "information you may need to file taxes" but it isn't always taxable. There may be one for total HC benefits received too. 1099-__.

EDIT: And keep in mind that retirement and disability and pension and whatever income is handled differently for tax purposes. So just because they sent you "info" you don't have to freak. ;) :)
