Well, I found a great price on a small notebook computer that weighs 1lb. So, that's settled. Also talked with a wonderful lady who helped me organize my list of questions for my surgeon and talked to me about a bunch of stuff that made me feel like I wasn't crazy for having fears and anxiety. She was really fun to talk to and I'm also getting set up with Phone Buddies who have been through the exact process I'm going through. Can't wait to talk to them. And can't wait for this to be over and me on the other side living my life!!!!

So, good evening and goodnight Snails. Sleep well, pleasant dreams and a better tomorrow for ALL :)

@AttyPops , sorry the job was such a pain, but glad Frannie and DH were able to help. I bet you're tired!!!

    night, night, (((kat)))! :)

Things are not going well with dh,tib?
just starting to see a bit of improvement now, frannie! ;) dh came home about a week ago, not able to stand or do anything on his own. skilled nursing was stopped with the claim 'optimal outcome' reached even though he had used less than half of his available skilled nursing days available through medicare. unfortunately, the private facility he did so well in last year had no opening. the boy has applied for unpaid family leave to give me a hand. :(

    Glad you're getting support. :)

The "job" will work out. You know how it is...it's always something. Next...shock refit on bushing....

Awww Tibs. Good for the boy helping like that. Sounds like medicare is stiffing you.

Buuuut...I'll bet DH will feel a lot better at home and maybe happier and heal up even better. Glad you're starting to see some improvement.

Hey @FranC, I hate to impose, I know you and DH are very busy...

The website (NAPA) for this shock says it fits my vehicle with an up-country package. Yet, it's the right length but the top pin center hole is TOO SMALL in diameter...the old one doesn't have a metal bushing in the center, the new one does. I'm thinking that if I can either A) Change out the new bushing for the old one ...rubber thing...or B) drive out the metal center that it will fit on the upper pin. Length is correct.

Had DH ever heard of this? I was "" this close to being done, and of course the dang thing won't go on the pin! (I'm sure it won't drive on...it's not snug, it's too small, period).

Sorry to have to impose and as a question....but I trust you and DH.

I'm going on a youtube search too.
    BBIAB...

Atty the bushings are a pressed fit. You got the wrong shocks.
Yeah they are pressed, but the old ones look like the new ones (same length) and the site says they fit, but they don't (just barely don't). You can sometimes get new bushings to replace worn or broken ones. I may just be able to swap out the bushings (with some work). But IF that doesn't work, IDK that I can return them. ;)

IDK. I'll ask the store tomorrow. They picked the part, not me. They have a return policy. :)
I double checked the site and the computer THINKS it should fit. The old ones look like the center metal ring "spacer" on the top one is just "gone". I suspect that IF IF IF I can drive out that spacer, it will work. Of course, I'd rather have the correct part but I don't see another part that's supposed to fit. Yikes!

Thanks for asking Fran. I'll see what they say.

We run into the wrong parts issue quite a bit. I'm sure your parts store has the right part in stock.
Well, there's only ONE part# that supposedly fits my 97 Jeep with UP COUNTRY suspension, and this is it. :(
May have to "work it out" with American ingenuity and guts. I assume they're the right length (old is the same) and travel, so it's just a matter of mounting them. I'll get it to A) Work and B) Be safe. Somehow.
