So-called "patio" or "privacy" fences shall not be restricted by the height limitation of this
section and may exceed six feet zero inches in height, provided that they otherwise comply
with all applicable ordinances and regulations and provided that the fence must be either
attached or affixed to the house or at least one end of the fence shall be within eight
feet of the main wall of the house; it shall be in the rear of the house; it shall have no
side exceeding 24 feet in length; it shall have no side nearer than 10 feet to any existing
lot line
; it shall have no more than four sides; and it shall not exceed eight feet in height.

Hmmmm... looks to be about 2 feet to me. :glare:

The face or finished side of any fence erected shall face the nearest abutting property.
All posts or supports shall be on the inside of said fence unless said posts or supports
constitute an integral part of the face of the finished side.

Hmmm... I see posts... I see the flat "nice" side facing INWARD. :glare:

Hmmmm... let me think about ...

... the mini/dirt bike tooling around their yard AND town property.

"It shall be unlawful to operate or for the owner to permit the operation of
any type of motor-driven vehicle or conveyance, including but not limited to
two-wheel vehicles known as minibikes, trail bikes and motorcycles and four-
wheel motor vehicles known as go-carts and excepting no-wheel vehicles,
such as but not limited to snowmobiles, under the following circumstances:..."

"...On any property owned, leased or controlled by the Town, except on trails
duly designated by the Town for the use of such vehicles at the times and in
the manner so designated."

And the noise.

And let me think about the motorcycle that I believe has NO exhaust system
installed.

More noise.

Hmmmmm... I'll let them build the fence, completely. Yes, that's what I'll
do. And THEN mention the town code. :smug:

It's right on the property line. Well, about 2 feet on THEIR side... supposed
to be 10 feet. (See above.)

I *THOUGHT* I would like them... grandson of the old lady who used to own
the house/property. But, he has all the toys of a testosterone-crazed kid
who may never grow up. Dirt bike, motorcycle, gas-powered EVERYTHING.
"ARGH! I AM SUCH A HE-MAN! ARGH!!!"

Bear I don't care what kinda man you think you are they need to learn right from wrong and if it takes that to do that yes I would let them learn the hard way too. Report them after the fence is up stopping them for now will not teach them anything :D

And... hee-hee... the posts have all been set in CONCRETE. Awww...
all that work done already. (Really, I JUST looked at the code last night,
so the damage was done before I knew.) (No, really, it was.) (Sincerely.)
(No lie.)

All the better babes, it'll take more werk to fix and they'll have to reflect on being stoopid. Thats how lessons are learned and how I meant the hard way

And one other thing, then I'll stop. For now. I have ALWAYS thought
any fences being built REQUIRED a permit from the town AND that
the work would be inspected during and after construction. I could be
mistaken... and probably am since there is no mention of that in the
code.

Let me be clear... I actually WELCOME the fence. It's fine by me if they
put one up. It will keep THEIR back yard leaves in THEIR back yard, so
it actually solves a problem. But the distance is TOO CLOSE and the WRONG
SIDE is showing.

Is a "patio" or "Privacy" fence different than a border fence for the lot? Which is this?
Most yard-fences are just inside the lot line (not usually 10 feet!)
But structural fences are treated like structures, I'd guess, so they make outside patio "areas" and things like houses, sheds, patio-fenced-in need to be 10 feet away. This leaves a 20 foot gap between structures in adjacent lots. But regular fences?
