I had scrambled eggs too...with Mexican chorizo that I had left over. No toast this time.

I just cannot do chorizo.
First time I saw it served at a brunch I thought I was gonna die...gross.
Yet, I will mix my breakfast all up together...
Eggs, bacon, hash browns, gravy and top it with tabasco and pico de gallo if available.

I don't understand this. What did it look like? Mine looks like ground beef, but it's hot/spicy with vinegar. We're talking fresh-pork Mexican Chorizo here. There's another thing called Chorizo too...the most common being Spanish Chorizo. That's a sausage with cured meat...kinda like pepperoni, but with big chunks of stuff. And then there's other types.

Some, so called "real" Chorizo, is made with some organs (lymph nodes or something) of pork. But I don't do that, and I make my own from ground pork. And I refer to it as Mexican Chorizo...because that's the style of it. Loose meat like ground beef but it's pork.

I'm also on a Turmeric kick for a variety of reasons. Chorizo is one of many things I can add turmeric to. And I even added a pinch to the 2 eggs.

Also curry kick. And watching blood sugar and glycemic index of foods.

Dr./PA is also on my case about reducing salt. And is messing with my statins. Grrr. And he said don't drink (but I don't drink much anyway...I've had maybe ten drinks this year, guessing.) But he said my liver enzymes were off, but it's also due to some other meds I think. IDK. He didn't get specific and nothing showed up in the notes online...he had someone call and give me results verbally. I hate that. Didn't jot it all down.

And my triglycerides are up, but its due to all the soda I drink that I shouldn't be drinking. I need to find an alternative caffeine source. And I HATE diet-soda and don't trust the fake-sweeteners.

    P.S.
    Don't really like coffee...........

I drink ice tea too. I should make that by the gallon...and spike it with a slight boost of caffeine! ;) The thing is, I think "they" cracked down on caffeine powder sales. Stupid kids abusing it. They ruin everything. That, and the Soda/bottling companies probably don't like DIY caffeinated stuff either.

Of course I should break my caffeine addiction too. Yeah yeah yeah.

My GF did it...she doesn't have caffeine anymore.

    I was wrong.
Correction: My tri's were decent. Cholesterol was a bit up, but not too bad. IDK what he's doing changing my Cholesterol meds. But I'll play along, since it's only for 3 months and he's "just" doubling it from 10 to 20 mg. Thing is, I don't tolerate those statins well. Heck, at one point I was on 80 mg and I felt like excrement all the time. The liver enzymes have been higher before this. Probably meds. Probably. Maybe diet. Maybe.

    Grrr.

I hate this. They don't explain crap. And It was some nurse that called me back with "results" and then gave directions, and I don't remember part of it...and I can't find it in the "after visit summaries". They said to double the statin, but didn't document it. But they did write a new script for 20 mg. So I guess that's SOME documentation. They said don't drink, but I seldom drink anyway. And they said ______, and I can't remember what it is. Grrr. Guess I could leave them a message.

Ignore me. Some of us complain about leaves falling, some about weather, and me about this doctor stuff.

never mind - 'twas on top of my list ;)

    The Triglyceride/HDL Cholesterol Ratio
    Interesting. :) Thanks Tibs.

Yeah, but my LDL is too high, I guess (123). I could post the results, but who cares, right?

The TG/HDL-C ratio is 1.93 using the mg/dL method from the article. So that's promising. Yet, he's still upping my statin for whatever reason. Probably to reduce the LDL ("bad stuff").

    Anyway, thanks again Tibs. :)
