Single tumor .Hasn't spread. No cirrhosis.Chemo first then radiation. It's a large tumor that's grown completely around the bile ducts,a couple blood vessels and a nerve that it's pinching which accounts for all the pain.

Not good. Not removable or curable. Rare form of liver cancer called bile duct cancer. They hope to get it in remission with treatment.

Glad the tumor hasn't spread. Hopefully, they can get him into remission quickly. This really sucks, Frannie, but getting him into remission is hopeful to give him some good, long quality time. Will continue with good thoughts and wishes. If they can shrink this thing and get it away from the nerves, his pain should ease considerably. If love could cure him, it would be done!!! We are here for you....(((HUGS))) to you and hubs!!

Thanks,Kat:wub: More important would be to keep it from totally blocking the bile ducts.
This is true, and in doing so, relieves the nerves and opens the ducts, both of which will ease his pain, and, hopefully, keep it from getting worse (his pain). Shrink that sucker!!!!!

I'm hoping so.They will call when they have appointments set up. There will be an appointment to talk to the Chemo nurse about what to expect and an appointment to install a catheter thing below his shoulder to put the needles in. Spots would get very sore if you had to put a new needle in all time.Appointment to start will be after that.

The dr did say one of the chemo drugs is known to relive pain.
Yes, most people think chemo causes bad side effects all the time, but, not true. Several of the chemo drugs can help pain and actually make you feel better. I have some IV lung cancer buddies who are helped tremendously by some of the chemo. Let's hope one of the drugs helps Hubs really soon!!:)
