Speaking of maintenance stuff, I just recharged (the cheap amateur way) the car's A/C system. We'll see if it holds.
Wanted to have A/C for the summer. Hadn't been recharged in decades I think. So meh. Was worth trying a can of refrigerant for $23.99+tax. Now the car has A/C again...if it holds. It has a sealer oil in it to stop any super-small leaks I guess or swell the seals or whatever.

Beautiful day today. Hung outside a good bit and on the deck. Was gonna go see a friend, but her son is in the hospital. He was mowing yesterday and slipped on wet grass. His left foot went under the mower and took ALL 5 toes.
Very lucky in many ways. It was his left foot, so he will still be able to drive. The way they were cut will allow doctors to make some type of prosthetic thingy and he can use shoe inserts. I don't know what kind of shoes he was wearing, but he's 42 and you would think he would be sensible. Could have just been a total fluke, too. Just glad he's okay.
