Hi snails...

Harder and harder to manage even a flyby nowadays. Had every intention of switching to after-work thread visits, but that hasn't happened. The light at the end of the work tunnel remains dim and quite far away, but it is what it is.

Hope all's well with y'all. :)

Bad news is blood count too low for chemo. Good news is dr said the tumor has already shrunk so much it hardly can be seen.

Hooray on the shrinkage !

Welp...
Steve has been going through lots of liver tests...blood work, CAT scan...
Had a follow up today re CAT and now they want to do a biopsy.
Good grief.

His Gall Bladder was removed a year or so back and he is on cholesterol meds.
I think it's his meds, his weight and sedentary lifestyle causing the fatty liver deal...

causing the fatty liver deal...
That's often sugar/carbs consumption related. (not fat). Although there's debate about the statins actually helping treat it.

HFCS in particular. That crap is in everything in the USA. Because King Corn here.
He'll feel better with lower carbs, less sugar. :2c:

Hope all else checks out OK. Fingers crossed!

P.S.
I'm not fond of the statins either, but I take them.
And the dang doc/pa actually INCREASED mine recently.

Grrrr.

I'm being good, so I take em. They're supposedly miracle drugs or some damn thing. If I know I have to do a ton of physical work in the coming days, I might drop off of them for a day or three.

But NAFLD sucks. It's reversible in early stages though, as I understand it.
Diet soda! ;) (blech!) or flavored water/tea no sugar.

Well, no rain again. Just a lot of clouds until this evening. Now it's all sunny and stuff!!! :w00t:

Statins are NOT the miracle drugs they were once thought of. They DO help some people, but can cause a lot of damage (particularly muscle and liver) to others. If they work for you and you have no problems, great. But if you show any symptoms, get it checked out. My heart doctor does NOT care for statins and he never worries about cholesterol levels. He looks at the RATIO numbers (where you divide your total cholesterol by your HDL),and triclycerides. Also neurological problems for some. This happened with M's dad. When he went off of them he felt so much better and more clear headed.

Statin side effects: Weigh the benefits and risks

Good evening and goodnight Snails. Sleep well, sweet dreams and a better tomorrow for all :)
