That’s not terrible but hate that you have to do the work. Too bad you can’t make the guilty party do it!

But the last time, a couple of years ago, the guy that accidentally hit it (swerved) stopped by and admitted it..."I just hit your mailbox"...I told him to forget about it since he was decent enough to stop and tell me about it (and it scratched/dented his truck, so...) He was cool.
Another time a lady in winter skidded and took out about 4 of them along the side of the road, mine included.
Maybe USPS will switch to drone delivery soon, eh?
Local plow truck driver working for the State took ours out once. Hubs had words with him. Never happened again.
This one is on a hinge, and shared with the neighbor across the street. Designed to not get killed by snow plow trucks...maybe. But my box is on the oncoming car-side so I get the brunt of it all the time even with the swing-bar. It was loose anyway...I was due to fix it sometime when I got the ambition. Guess I have the ambition now.

I already had holes pre-drilled for most of the work. (Same size mailbox)
Let's hope no mail was lost. I assume it happened last night, and thus the mailperson didn't drop any off today. I got the mail yesterday. But who knows?
