I don't and I don't know enough about batteries in general to experiment. I just follow manufacturer's (and Mooch's) directions. Maybe if we knew what mods @Katmar and Marsha are using we could ask Mooch for help?
Wow, Guys, thanks for all the advice. We both use the mini pegasus. I still have the original from way back when several of us picked a few up for $19...on a special sale. What a bargain that was. Marsha is gonna call Illum tomorrow, but I don't expect much, and I totally understand from their point of view. I've already decided to PIF a few to a lady who needs them. I will NOT mess with any battery to make it a flat top. I would like to sell some to cut our losses, but, if we can't, so be it. And, yes, getting verified ain't gonna happen anytime soon, for sure. I don't think Mooch could really help because these mods only use flat top. This was definitely MY mistake and I have to own it.:)

@classwife and @UntamedRose , so sorry for the loss of your friend....

Good evening and goodnight Snails. Sleep well, sweet dreams and a better tomorrow for all :)

This has been on my mind...

...I would make sure to not touch the casing when trying to remove the button !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Not cool !!!!!
OK, I just watched that video. I thought that same thing. I cringed when he pried on the top button cap. I'd have put some plastic between the tool and the battery case/edge.

I'm not a fan, since the "flat top" actually has a very slightly raised center insert, and he didn't replace that, so IDK if it's the same or not. Maybe "flat tops" are really "no tops". If not, then if the wrap gets worn on the outside edge it MIGHT short on a flat surface. OTOH, + pole connections are smaller diameter than the battery, so it would work.

    Definite re-wrap no matter what.

I cringed all the way through that video, but that's just me. I don't mess with batteries, period. Besides, what was he doing anyway? Replacing a built-in battery in an iStick? If so, why didn't he use the correct battery to begin with? o_O
