I didn't think you were that old. Taking it early if you don't have to...not usually a good idea.
63 when the money starts rolling in.

Breakeven year (or, "money lost year" if you look at it that way)
will be 2034 if I waited until full retirement age.

2034

78 years old

Ummmm... I'll start taking it now. :) Gimme gimme gimme.

Make it rain, gub'mint! :)

My brother was ?35/36? when he died, didn't collect a dime.

So yeah, the present value thing counts.

But they reduce it quite a bit if you take it early.

Not that I figure I'll be around that long anyway, but who knows, right?

Yes, it's reduced. But it will take (me) 15 years to actually realize a cumulative "loss"
than if I waited until 66.5 .

I can live with that. Have to now. Just signed a pact.

Oooops... yes, you ARE able to stop payments until a later time.

:: thinking ::

Nah!
But, you are required to give them a concrete date for it to re-start and
it is unable to be changed and/or stopped again. Kind of like a "remorse"
thing. (From how I understand it, anyway.)
