More tomorrow about today. :grr::mad::nah:
Saturday Nutshell:

Wake up
Trudge down hallway toward kitchen
Approach aquarium (in semi-darkness)
SQUISH SLOG SOG WADE
Turn on hall light
See that aquarium is more than half empty and still leaking

There's more afterward, but you get the picture.

You might even say the water was "ensconced [tm @Katmar 2019]" in the carpeting.

The thought of "OK... that's enough of owning an aquarium" did pass through my mind.
Have had it since 1989. 30 years... over it.

But what do you do with the fish? I could not just flush them.

Dealt with a minor leak back in October, but it still involved a complete disassembly of
the whole thing. I re-siliconed all the seams and it worked fine up until yesterday. HOW
does it just fail like that? Normal normal normal.... GUSH!!! I was VERY generous with
the caulk.

Anyway... scoured the county via web to find a similar tank (hexagonal). I thought about
one of the one-piece acrylic tanks. A couple aquatic places sincerely talked it down. They
scratch easily. The tops severely limit access to the tank (for cleaning, eg.) since everything
is built-in. And the material yellows after only a couple of years.

Got another glass one, but 20% less water volume. It's a step in downsizing. :) Now letting
the water cycle for a while and getting all the water tests within safe readings. I'll move the
fishies to their new (smaller) home after the Sunday Dad visit.

Ugh.

Oh, and... A Pleasant Sunday to all!

And given the holiday, time for the annual jokes:

Q. What's Irish and spends 6 months of the year in the garage?
A. Paddy O'Furniture!

Q. Did you hear about the two guys from Dublin who moved to SanFrancisco?
A. Michael FitzPatrick and Patrick FitzMichael! :D

Later, peoples!

A pretty sunny day, but very chilly. Stayed in and was just lazy....something new....NOT. :w00t:
Can't wait to get back out on my deck and enjoy the sounds of nature, traffic and general outdoor noises!!

Good evening and goodnight Snails. Sleep well, sweet dreams and a better tomorrow for all :)
