Glad you're OK Tweety bird. :)
Missed ya here.

Missed you too. We had a health situation--BiL had to be moved from San Francisco to SoCal because of serious illness... We had to handle it all, full time job. He's at assisted living facility now.
Watch out for those damn gas leaks, eh? Lots more shaking going on.
You're a ways away, from the epicenters, right?

We're quite far away, but we shook pretty well and for a long time. Everybody got dizzy. Rather unsettling, even for those who are used to earthquakes.

Sounds scary! Glad you're OK. Good luck to the BIL, must have been a lot of work to move him.

I think we humans have a common ancestor with pack rats....

So sorry to hear about your BIL,Tweety:(

End stage liver and kidney disease... And before you ask, no, he never drank. It's called NASH--nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. He's on dialysis, also. Just out of the blue. He was perfectly fine 6 months ago or so--and then it all went south. He's so helpless...

Wow. Sucks. So tragic and sounds surprising.

Yeah. It'a a full time job. Paperwork, insurance, Medicare B, closing his apartment in San Fran, subscriptions, credit cards--you name it. He can't do anything for himself. Nothing. We're it...

I'm working on NAFLD myself, and so far haven't see a reduction.

NAFLD in itself can be managed and even reversed. Plenty of people live good lives with NAFLD.

His fate is scary for me too.

He has cirrhosis, ascites, edema, muscle wasting, the works. Paracentesis every two weeks. Combined with end stage kidney disease, his prognosis is not good.
I'm surprised he can't do anything....is there a chance at a liver transplant?

He can't even get up without assistance--he needs help with every simple daily task. His brain is getting affected, too. He's forgetful, irritable. He's not a candidate for a transplant, unfortunately. Just management.

I hope so, it's pretty common in our modern times. I suspect it was common before too, but just way-under-diagnosed. And people didn't used to live this long 100 years ago.

Anyway, working on it. :)

So sorry for your BIL. That sounds terrible. :( Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
