Sending "Good Tuesday" greetings to all the regulars here.

It's a balmy 15 degrees. Oreo and Sheba are making good use of their roomier
digs. The water bowl appears to be functioning as it should... despite a few
negative reviews on Amazon. The "cord thing" is a non-issue. I just dump
the water, wipe out the bowl, put fresh water in. The bowl does not NEED
to be disconnected and cleaned inside the house.

morning, mr bear! :) guess at 15 degrees there's no chance for bacteria to grow :p
In the HEATED dish.... ;)

As long as he wipes it out with a clean whatever, rinses it with clean water, wipes it with another clean whatever, and then fills it, he's OK.

I'd be more worried about HIM coming in contact with something...and not washing his hands well afterward. Or wiping his eyes or nose or mouth before washing up. So don't do that, Bear.

Or algae. In the good weather, it needs almost-daily cleaning.

@AttyPops ... SUPPOSEDLY the heater in the bowl works just enough to
prevent freezing, so the agua gets nowhere near Summertime temps.

Don't forget the skunks that visit... and the squirrels... I imagine that
bowl is a seething festering petri dish of simmering disease. "Meh"
[tm AttyPops], been doing the same thing for years.

seems to me once temps fall below 40 bacteria don't multiply so well - guess we all (plus critters) have to mostly rely on our immune system ;)
