Guy came out and immediately went into the hard sell of solid stain. Still not
until mid-late July. He'd do my preference of semi-trans, but then the work
would come with no explicit or implied guarantee of satisfaction.

I did ask how I could possibly set the nails which have poked up a bit (and REFUSE
to be pounded back) and he said pull 'em up and use deck screws in their place.
So... there would be a scattershod pattern of screw heads among the now-flush
nail heads. Hmmmm. I suppose I could do it in an artistic pattern... or a subliminally
obscene image.

Finials and railing(s)?... He looked at me and said "You have this". He is kinda cute,
so I took it to heart and will try. :) I mean, WHY would he lie to me?

Anyway... guess it's all me again this year. Once everything is done and we're into July
and August and I'm sitting out there (with the kitties and tunes and some wine), I'll
start sketching out an envisioned replacement oasis for The Golden Years, maintenance
free-as-possible. I already have it envisioned in my mind. Should I include a power lift
just in case cane/walker?

Bad time with trying to find someone/anyone to simply DO THE WORK.
    FOR me.

I mean... I HAVE THE DOLLARS, see 'em??? :: waving, fluttering :: ... now
TAKE them!!! How HARD should that be?!?!

The deck is fine, very structurally sound. This is Year #32 for it. NOTHING
has rotted or fallen apart or sagged or drooped. I only want it to LOOK good.
Geeze!!! And if I have to do it again next year, FINE!!!
