All the carts were parked when we went it so I have no idea if they'd been washed down or not.

Here they do it in front of you as you enter the store. And they assured me that all the carts are being sanitized as they are brought back to the store. Every store I visited has the same policy--TJ's, Gelson's, Whole Foods...

You still can bring your own reusable bags, but you have to bag your groceries yourself--employees are not allowed to bag for you.

We've been inside for 11 days. Went for a drive and got burgers and fries. (and paid up charge for orange juice in containers I can wipe down).

Nuked the food, tossed the packaging and napkins, and washed hands. Best we can do, other than not going at all.

Funny Tweety.
Someone needs to make a meme with shopping carts going through a car wash....

Hi snails.

    Hi snails.
Yeah I’m thinking I may have to get out and just drive around for a bit.

Hi, Dale. Sounds like a nice dinner. Ours is still hours away. No idea what we're having. Don't want to go shopping, so probably something from the freezer.

    ETA: Hiya Atty! :)
    It was pretty good :)
Everything we are having (almost) is from the freezer;) And happy to have it

Meantime, San Francisco just banned reusable shopping bags to prevent outside germs from entering grocery stores.

@SilverBear , I thought you'd find it amusing... I guess NY will be next. Talk about bad timing. When did NY ban those single use plastic bags? Just when the epidemic started? :headbang:

    Hello, Snails, passing through....
    Hello Katya!

29feb20 was last day for plastic bags.

HOWEVER, one major chain here has brought them back (Tibs: NOT Wegmans) but ONLY
if you use a cashier line, not self-checkout.

And, it makes sense (bringing them back, NOT the either/or how-you-check-out thing).

morning, mr bear! sure hope i get through that fast on monday ;)
They actually offered to let ME drive the car into the lift bay and
stay IN the car while it was serviced. Ummmm... I like my car's
undercarriage, thank you. Even though it was 31 degrees.

Instead, I just walked around the building 7 or 8 times.
