California stores have been doing this for weeks. I guess it depends on the state... And the sidewalks and checkout lines all have markings on the ground/floor showing peeps where to wait to keep the 6 ft distance... And they all now have plexiglass barriers installed to protect the employees. And everybody is wiping everything all the time--the carts, the conveyor belts, the registers...
