At-home service? Yes, that's what he "claimed". He belongs to some union or association
and it's deemed "unsanitary" even in the best of times UNLESS the customer is actually
home-bound due to some physical problem.

My house is NOT teeming with the heebie-jeebies.
no, bear - declared illegal under virus orders

I'm now wondering if I can sous vide masks (at what temp? For how long?) to sterilize them after use. Will that degrade the elastic? Is the elastic already degraded? (haven't opened it yet, just cleaned off the case). Can't imagine they're very sterile after sitting in the plastic case in the garage for that long.

They are OK, Atty--if they were kept in a closed box. You can't properly sterilize those masks at home. Hang them up for 24 hr or so after use and you'll be OK for grocery shopping and such. Maybe not for doing surgery, though. :)

Someday it will warm up and I'll be able to go out and sit in the sun but according to the weather that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

We're having a very unusual and rare late-season storm rolling in tonight--may even end the drought. It's going to snow in the local mountains.

Now? Now I'm going to die because I quit smoking.....?????????? (hope not).

No, you won't! As I understand it, he speculates that nicotine may have protective qualities against coronavirus.

"...these consistent observations, which are further emphasized by the low prevalence of current smoking among COVID-19 patients in the US (1.3%), raises the hypothesis that nicotine may have beneficial effects on COVID-19. This could be attributed to its immunomodulatory effects and its interaction with the renin-angiotensin system. However, other confounding factors need to be considered and the accuracy of the recorded smoking status needs to be determined. However, the results were remarkably consistent across all studies and were recently verified in the first case series of COVID-19 cases in the US."

If he's correct and it's indeed nicotine, we're getting it from vaping. Too bad nobody's collecting vaping data...
