I had a craving. I wanted a chocolate shake. That's easier said than done, because I haven't bought ice cream since before mom passed. She loved it, I don't eat it much. The closest shake-place to me is a McDonalds 5 minutes away or so.
I don't eat McD very much, but I figure what the hey? So I order a Big-Mac combo with fries but with a Large Chocolate Shake. I eat a Big Mac about every couple of years, on average, I'd say.
Anyway, I about fell out of my seat when the price came by...nearly 10 bucks before taxes. So I'm looking at it...and a big-mac combo is over 7 bucks now, and the shake is 2.50 ish. So it was like 9.9x. Then tax. So I paid over 10 bucks for this thing, and I'm not even fond of McD. So Yeah, I'm stupid. Should just have ordered the shake. But what the hey, eh?
So I'm good on Big Mac's for another couple of years. I'm still burping.

I found the receipt.
So the Big Mac meal was 7.29 and I assume that's a large fry due to the large shake.
And the shake was another 2.69, totaling 9.98 before 6% tax. Oy.
I guess there's a big-mac economic index, since it's a global chain it's useful to price things that way.

there's about 1000 of them nationwide; nothing to brag about but the piece of fish comes in handy for lunch
I live on a lake Tibs. I can get free fish if I want to cook it.
Alas, I don't eat much fish, and that really should change. Ate it quite a bit as a kid though. Guess I got burned out on it. It's good for you, although I wonder about chemical contamination everywhere these days.
