just cut back my peonies - what a waste! those cold nights beginning of may did great damage to the buds and none of them opened properly.

As beautiful as peonies are, I dug mine up a few years back, as they not only took over my little flower garden, when the petals fell, they made a huge mess every year.
Maybe next year, buy those ants some winter parkas and maybe they can keep the peony bushes alive....

i think those little guys did their job but all the petals opened up with cold damage - more brown than the color they were supposed to be.

Same here Tibs, they’d open halfway and turn brown At least the plant is healthy

Had breakfast and late lunch (burger). Neighbor broke her glasses, had to take her to get them fixed since she can't drive well without them, got a "free" burger. We got the woodpile about 1/3 to 1/2 fixed up. Enough for the day. More tomorrow.
